KDE team announced the second beta for upcoming 4.9 series with more feature and fixes. The noticeable features are dolphin, activities and plasma desktop. Beside that there are also bug fixes which make the transition smoother than beta 1. If you are openSUSE user and would like to give it a test drive and report bugs, add unstable repos, more here.

• The Dolphin file manager has improved its display and sorting and searching  based on metadata.
• Deeper integration of Activities for files, windows and other resources.
• Qt Quick in Plasma Workspaces — Qt Quick is continuing to make its way into  the Plasma Workspaces.
• Many performance improvements and bugfixes improve the overall user  experience.
